Cayman S vs. Boxster S????

$ no object and if you believe in Porsche's marketing scheme that you are not driving the entry level model of their lineup => Cayman S
$ matters and if you don't mind owning the entry level model => Boxster S
Both are excellent cars imo but if i live in an area that rains alot like the pacific northwest, then i would probably lean more toward the cayman...otherwise, i'll get the box.

I'd get the BoxsterS if it had the CaymanS front bumper. 
They handle similarly, but the Boxster has the top down experience. For the price difference, you can get the removable hardtop.
Coming from an S2000 (with hardtop), I may be a bit biased. But driving with the top down is priceless.
I don't think 3 Series or C-Class owners ever thought "Hmm I am buying the entry level model, is that okay" and niether should you - get the car you like. And I don't know of any other company that charges MORE for the fixed roof version.
And for what it's worth, I live in Seattle as well.

The boxster S has a 3.2 and the Cayman has a 3.4...But all that will change this year when the Boxster S gets a 3.4...So if you are thinking Boxster call the dealer and wait a little it will be worth it.

Still, I do love running around the track with the top down. And if you tour at all...nothing gives breath-taking panoramas like a drop top.
Go Boxster S, unless you just gotta have the Cayman look or the extra rigidity. I agree the Cayman is better looking.
