Dumb Q - Cayman Parts On Boxster

Both are designated 987, right? So I know they share a lot, but also have unique parts...

Will the CaymanS bumper fit on a Boxster?
I like the droptop. It's cheaper. Same engine this year. Etc. I think I like the Boxster more, but I finally realized what has held me back - the front bumper. But I love the Cayman front.

Anybody done this? Simple switch?

Someone did this and it's supposed to be an easy swap. I can't remember which thread it was, but he was a German national, who posted here about doing it sometime last year.

hay guys, i had a customer of ours do this cayman front bumper swap at one of the local body shops, its a very easy swap to do, all you need is headlights, bumper, fenders, and some misc. grilles, trims, ducts and brackets, its is also not to expensive(for Porsche) but very easy to do.

purely for looks, there is no performances gain to the swap, it also looks darn sexy

My understanding is that all you need is the bumper and the bumper pieces(grilles etc.) The headlights and the fenders are identical to the Boxster. I think its a great idea. Would look really nice!

my mistake, you are correct zemdogg, i was thinking of the 997 gt3 bumper we put on the cayman, not the cayman bumper we put on the boxster, we do so much of this around here i get confused

Phew! Headlights and fenders killed the idea, HAHA.
I would have just gone with the Rinspeed bumper, or something.
But if it's just the OEM Cayman bumber and grilles, then it's possibile. I'd have to check what those go for, both from a wrecked car and the dealership.
