Winter tires and rims for my 2012 911 from a Porsche Dealer are $4,995.

Seems expensive, is it a good idea to buy elsewhere, if so where in the GTA?

If the 2012 is a 991 the 18" won't clear the suspension apparently.

 

Try SimplyTire. It is located at Keele and Finch. Their price is extremely competitive compare to Tirerack and 1010tires.


I got a quote for a set of Pirelli Zero 275 R40 for $2100 after taxes which is the same as Tirerack/1010tires but SimplyTire also includes installation! I will buy my tire from them next time.

 

I can set you up with Factory winter wheel and tire packages at very attractive pricing. The only 'hiccup' is that it is honestly more favorable to folks local as the freight expense to ship mounted wheels and tires is quite ridiculous.
If you are within an easy distance to NY, Westchester, shoot me a note with your VIN/style preference , etc and I'll check availability & work you up some numbers. There are some pretty solid deals to be had on the Spyder wheels in particular.

Plus, I would point out that @ approx $250 per tire, plus shipping, plus mount and balance, the tires alone are a $1200 proposition.
@$5k that leaves $3800 for (4) New Aluminum Porsche rims, or $950 ea. Not exactly terrible.........
