Advice - Selling my 2005 Turbo Cayenne
 

Hi all.

It's been a nice run with you guys and my sweet Pepper. You have helped me figure out this hot Porsche and get the right mods over the years and I wanted to thank you.

Unfortunately it's time to sell her. Not sure what I'm going to get next.

I was wondering if you can give me any tips to advertise or sell such a special car and for how much even. I spec'd it out on kbb.com and it came to about $64,000 without the custom 22" Champion wheels, Tech Art lowering Kit , Hoen H11 Fog Lights, extra deep window tint or clear side markers.

What do you guys recommend?

40,000 miles (just paid for tune-up and new brakes)
Paint and body is Excellent (White with brushed silver)

Comes with Stock 19" Wheels (only 10k miles on tires)
Can come with Custom 22" Champion RG24 (Made specifically for the Cayenne are lightest and strongest I could find)
Hoen H11 Fog Lights (Brighte and way cooler looking)

Tech Art Lowering Kit (Adjustable on the fly)

That's a great looking truck. Sad to hear you are selling her. Now adays it's always hard to sell the car at blue book retail, but give it some time maybe the right buyer will come along willing to pay for the mods that you have on the car.

For comparison purpose I bought my 05 CTT with 11k miles for 60k, stock.

I would expect average pricing on the street today to be between 55-60k for your year and mileage, factoring out the mods since most of the time mods doesn't really add any value but more like a value added to prospective buyers.

good luck getting over 56-58k. I traded my pepper in for 56.5k (49k miles).

I have a Porsche for sale now that has many mods and is a super car but it seems like the majority of the market do not appreciate or value these mods. We spend a fortune on some of these upgrades to our vehicles and they enhance the pleasure of driving and owning a Porsche but don't expect non-enthusiasts to want to shell out a dime for them. In fact some people are turned off to anything non-stock. I think sometimes you are better off to sell the upgrade parts separately and put the OEM stuff back on when selling a car.

I'm open to selling the two major mods on their own. That being the Wheels and the Tech Art Lowering Kit but I don't know if I can with the lowering kit. Any ideas?

Is anyone here interested in buying the wheels or lowering kit?

Let me know on the wheels as I may be interested. As for the lowering module, if it is anything like the FVD module you will have a plug you can put on the wiring harness that bypasses everything and then you would remove the module. If so, you could either order another harness or sell it without and let the buyer pick up a new one.
