mObridge Audio iPod and Auxiliary Interface review.

I had the mObridge Audio iPod and Auxiliary Interface I received 6 weeks ago installed in my wife’s Cayenne yesterday. The delay was due to my constant overseas travels.

Here are my comments on the system:

Pluses:
  • Great sound quality
  • Instantaneous menus
  • Stealthy installation
    • iPod in the glove box
    • All control and commands through original Porsche PCM and steering wheel.
  • Bluetooth upgrade is coming soon – March 2008 - for cell phone integration.
  • Installer charged me 2 hours, which is pretty decent, given that I got the system directly from mObridge. Installer said the install was pretty straightforward thanks to the detailed documentation mObridge emailed me.

Minuses:
  • Going through PCM makes the control and command not as intuitive as one would like. I guess I have to practice a bit more.

Conclusions: A great product at an affordable price. I hope the BT upgrade arrives soon!

Mine has the Sirius Radio option so my PCM does not have the phone buttons... will that prevent me from using BT??

my mobridge has been installed for at least 3 weeks Install took no more than 30 minutes. Everything works great. The hardest part is searching for an artist if you have couple of thousand artists on your ipod it'll take a Long long time. Playlists help. 1 bug i discovered is 160gb classic ipod with newest firmware 1.1 causes the mobridge not to detect a CDs in the changer emulation. Hope that'll Elbe fix i already submitted a bug to mobridge on this.

Captain Tal will become famous soon enough
Mine works and sounds great. I did the dash install so mine took a bit longer to install (2.5 hrs)

It took me awhile to figure out how to run the iPod from the PCM. But then again, I didn't read the manual

Great unit. I paid $599 - 10% Rennlist Member discount <- two months ago. As stated previously, there is a group buy going on over there now for $499.

Sounds like the group buy the postive feedback is a good thing. Dension and Nav-TV have not given me the warm fuzzies still.

Would this work on a regular Bose stereo (no navigation)?

I just talked to mObridge "Scott" and found a good news, six more months or less they will offer a new version that will allow you to play vedios on PCM, wow....., I will wait for that one and pay $200 or so extra. This is a great company to follow up.
