the reason is simple, these are NOT carbon fibre.
the company is not missleading anybody as they say in at least 2 places that they wet lay carbon fibre over fibreglass (a common practice) but please dont think that these are carbon fibre....they are not.

a lot of companys are doing this, they are fibreglass, with a very thin layer of carbon fibre "wrapped" over the fibreglass.
pure woven carbon fibre is very strong and light, these are not strong and can snap as fibreglass does.

wolf in sheeps clothing im afraid.
you get what you pay for in this game.

Good price. And does it really matter if it's just an overlay? The interior pieces are purely for aesthetics, not strength.

my reply was not about strength etc, it was the O/P had asked why it was so cheap for carbon fibre.....ergo.........

i think upwards of $500 for fancy fibreglass is crazy.

Gotcha. I'm in agreement, but it's easier to swallow than the OEM CF interior $$$$.

Looks good.. only piece i see thats missing is the one for the ignition key.

Id give it shot if i had an extra $1k to blow today.. Mine has the factory cf steering wheel and shifter. This would look good in the car.

is this any different then the companies laying it over the factory plastic? then shipping it saying it is carbon fiber, which is actually adding more weight to the vehicle (factory part plus CF weight..and yes i know it is minuscule but pointing it out)

thank god Ostrich skin never really took off

seen an OEM CF center console in a sports car pulling off the plastic, at least they said it was OEM... I noticed it because the ashtray cover was getting hung up. I am sure it unwarrantable but it is still a bummer that the vehicle has to return out of service to have it addressed

no these are real parts, The over lay that your speaking of it not real cf and it attaches with double sided stickey tape.

I have a friend the does carbon work.. he looked at mine and said it would still look nice but porsches steering wheel is inter woven? and most or not or something like that... he explained it to me but that was months ago..

Id give it a shot.

So did anyone get this? If so, could you share the installed pics? I am tempted to do so, and they are on special ($800).
