comparitive things ..good & bad

i was thinking what things on/about our cars are better or worse "comparitively" speaking.

my top 3 are:
better:
1, parking sensors...i find them the best i have ever had in a car.
2,entry/exit function, where the steering wheel goes back and in, and the seat goes down and back when you take the key out , so exit/entry is unristricted. best system i have found.
3, heated seats, best i have used.

worse:
1, the indicators..i like to just give a short push to signal (1 or2 flashes) but the cayenne flashes for 5 goes....frustrating.
2, sat nav, i think its poor compared to some manufactures. (merc/bmw/lexus etc)
3, seats, i dont find them supportive enough for a "performance" car..i would like bmw M style seats for the turbo.

i have obviously not included engine/performance and the like because thats a given.
i just wanted to compare things you also get on other rides we have owned.

i have taken most things for granted and was mainly talking about the little things that make our cars better or worse than the compertition.

over to you lot.
oh, and the cup holders are pretty good also

I agree on the nav - my 08 isn't great. I wonder how much better the 09 touchscreen setup is vs. the older stuff? I haven't been impressed with MB's nav, BMW is so-so, too.

just comparing to my 535xi, the parking sensor in CTT is comparable, heated steering wheel much worse (no separate button and rather weak), no bluetooth (mine is 2008 CTT, the 2006 BMW already had in stock form), intermittent wiper not that sensitive...

Porsche is known to be weak in these kind of electronic gadgets, its selling point is engine, chassis and suspension.

I have the aftermarket park assist installed by dealer, worst POS ever, had them reinstalled 4 times and it still beeps at air. Irelevant as its not OEM but just a note to those who are thinking about to get it after market instead of order it as a factory option.
Built quality is excellent compared to my previous cars.
Transmission is not very smart compared to my range rover sport, it seems to think too much and sometimes be in the wrong gear.
Navigation is OK, i have the PCM 3 and heard its a great improvement over the PCM 2 but still not as good as my RangeRover Sport Nav.
Bluetooth connectivity is excellent compared to my RRS. The sound is crystal clear.
Heated steering is weak.
Seats are NOT comfortable. I have the base seats and have yet to find a good sitting position. I'm 6ft 190 lbs. Also the head rest is useless, it provides no supports whats so ever.
However, there is something about the car I cant explain that makes me want to drive it all the time. It's not the fastest nor is the best handling car i've driven... And I can't stop the urge to modify! In my RRS, after an exhaust system I was finished.

so very true
the family uses it as a road trip car and its the worst car to take on one because of the seats. imo, their stiff, my arms are too big for the arm rest on the door panel, and the heated steering sucks. i wanted to install diff leather seats but i didnt think it would look good with the rest of the interior

your right, the armrest is way too small and those buttons too far back....you need midget arms to work them.
also +1 on the useless headrests, why dont they tilt forward??

I haven't driven an S or Turbo, but the GTS seats are mostly comfortable. Adjustable bolsters would be nice. I'm a bodybuilder and find them just a bit narrow. Longest time in the saddle is only ~2hrs so far, so I'll have to reserve judgment on their true long distance comfort.

ive driven from georgia to new jersey because we left after a party. (dumb drinking age). and it was a good 23 hr trip, including traffic, 3 hr stop in NC to go shopping, and all the stops to go to bathroom and refill on bar-b-q sunflower seeds

im 6'2 and 19 yrs old and i think it was by far the worst car trip ive taken so i had to use 3 pillows to get me comfy. one behind me on the back of the seat, one to the left of my left leg, and one on the window. went down I-95 at 90 mph on cruise control at 3 am, nothing better. then when you wakeup take it off and use tiptronic around 115 mph on a perfectly paved st? cant fight the v6

but if your gunna take a road trip, rent a dodge or a honda oddessey, or take another car because i hate the arm rest. its either you put it on the window or the actual armrest which my arm is wayy to big for
