Nice pics. Have you taken the Pepper off pavement yet? Or real off-roading? What size tires and rims are you running? I'm looking at the Nitto Terra Grapplers on 18 inch rims with 285/60 rubber. Hopefully they'll fit the wheel wells nicely and give the ride a nice beefy look without causing any rubbing or detriment to the overall handling of the car.

 

Have had the car for less than 24 hrs, so no off road yet. The tires are 255/55-18 Goodyear all season tires with very little tread depth. They look like they'll be worn in 10k miles - even with a 5 wheel rotation.

Off roading is in the plans and the reason the options were ordered as they were. The car is to replace a M-B G500. Not sure about the 285/60 tire size fitment. I haven't found it yet; but there is apparently the ability to select from a variety of tire sizes in the console menu. FWIW, the tires used on the factory supported Transsyberia Rally cars were 265/65-18 BFG All-Terrain A/T

 

I just noticed that the full sized rear mounted spare does not have a TPMS transmitter; so it doesn't look like a 5 tire rotation will be possible. One would think that for $1525, they could have included the transmitter.

 

Thats weird, the older style TPMS would show in the display the spare tire if equipped. I havent come across any 08+ yet with that option to notice.

 

The dealer claims it's because the TPMS computer can only handle 4 inputs. I call BS; and suggest that it's Porsche = "Cheap Ba$tard$"!

I've gone into the menu in the multifunction cluster display; and when I click on the spare tire, a message comes up that there is no transmitter available for input. That tells me that there is a place for that input. I plan to buy a wheel transmitter, install it and see if it works. From the right source (not my selling dealer!), it's not too expensive.

(As an aside, I'm not too impressed with my selling dealer's service department. They delivered the car 2 qts low on engine oil. It just barely wet the very tip of the dipstick. The LF tire is also leaking. It was low on delivery; and has required a 6 psi daily top-off. When I called their service department, the adviser told me it would be covered only if I had purchased the extended tire road hazard warranty. Not a very good start to what looks like it will be a very short relationship! )

Congrats on the purchase! Sorry to hear that your dealer is so bad after purchase. Where did you get it from... Jim Ellis? Is that the Porsche dealership off of GA 400 and Alpharetta Hwy? I have had some bad experiences with them as well Hope it all works out and best of luck.

Oh no. That's too bad the relationship with the dealer is causing you to rid the car. I understand your feelings. I'm the same way with BMW and will never go back to them. They treated all their 335i customers wrong with the constantly failing high pressure fuel pumps...even to the point of blaming the 10% ethanol gasoline the customer fills the car up with.

 

You're selling that badass pepper after a week due to little problems and a ****ty dealer? How close is the next dealership? You have one of the coolest versions of the Cayenne, give it a chance!

 

Do you want it? Do you have a dealer near you in whose service department you have confidence? I don't.

 

Are there other problems with it that you're not mentioning?
