I know you can lower the car to 3 different levels, low, normal, and high. But does this suspension cause the car to run more smooth or anymore stiff in any way? I am guessing it only makes the ride more comfortable, and has no performance effects except for lowering the center of gravity?

 

There are actually 5 levels: Loading, Low, Normal, High, and Terrain. In addition to that there are different modes for the ride quality: Sport, Normal, Comfort, these modes can adjust the stiffness of the suspension.

5 ride height levels, although you can't drive in loading mode, high mode is under 50mph (I think?) and Special Terrain mode is only for low speeds.

On my GTS, I don't think there is a huge difference between the 3 suspension firmness settings. Switching from sport to comfort on rough roads does reduce the jarring hits, but I wouldn't call it comfortable
