day time running lights
day time running lights
Just imported a US Cayenne Turbo to Canada. Before it can be registerred the day time running light feature must be programmed which the dealer say only they can do. I also have a Durametric, can I access this programming feature through my laptop?
Possibly with the PRO Durametric cable and version 6. For some reason when they introduced the new version with the programming features, the decided to not allow enthusiasts this option. I am a little ticked as the vag-com cable can do all this and more for half the price of the durametric and no car restrictions.
Congrats on the New car, this is no related to your question but I have a question for you.
I'm looking to purchase a Porsche from the US and import it to Canada, is your warranty still covered?

I brought in an 06 Cayenne S and all I did was put a piece of black tape over the light sensor which is located on the windshield by the rear view mirror and left the light switch in the "auto" position...works just like daytime runners!!!

Mine is over 80k so no warranty left but the dealer says that they would have honored any remaining warranty. I had the lights programmed at the dealer as the folks at Durametric say the current software will not allow activating this feature.
Both my Touareg and my 997 came from the US. I am able to turn on the day time running lights through the PCM in the 997, and the MFI in the Touareg. I do like the auto on sticker trick, it should be enough to get through inspection.
