GTS Xenon Upgrade Help ...

I recenty bought bought a 2010 Cayenne GTS I dosent have xenon lights
I have used kits before but On this car I want the only factory Units I have 2 Problems I have talked to 3 different dealers and keep getting different answers as to what the xenon headlight assm. come with first they tell me the lights come complete with the control unit bulbs and ballast (I own a body shop and according to my estimating software the lights come complete) then itsxenon bulbs only one say no bulbs etc... another dealer told me you cant even install them because of a harness issue???

I don't think it would make sense to spend the money on OEM bc not only are you gonna pay more for the whole set up itself, you also need the self leveling mechanism for each headlight. I think to retrofit OEM HIDs would be way too expensive, when you can put an aftermarket set in there for less than a couple hundred bucks.

Well I get the parts wholesale and I have used kits before but the projector and lowbeam cut off is also different so your not getting the full potential in halogen housings. Just trying to get info to go foward.

i talked to walters porsche and they scrweewd me over too they wanna charge me 5k to put the oem bixenon headlights when i was told the car was already equiped until i drove home and it was night time....

Im trying to find out what parts I need And what the 800 dollars housings come with but it seems no one can help.....

On my Benz all Did was buy the housings and have the lights activated by the dealer...

Well, I did this to my 1999 Porsche 996 and all it required was the headlight housings themselves since the ballast and ignitors were inside of them. The wiring plug was the same so it was mostly plug and play. For the Cayenne, there might need to be a recoding for HID but I bet you could just slide a set of bi-xenon lights in and they would work. The extra cost from the dealer is most likely to add in the auto-leveling functionality which is not needed for the lights to work.

There are plenty of low cost bi-xenon headlights on E-bay.

FYI, I have taken my bi-xenons out on my 04 CTT and the ballast and ignitor (which is built into the bulb base for DS1) are all part of the headlight housing unit.

I dont even mind buying the new ones I just dont want to order lights and get stuck with them if they dont work I just have get my hands one a xenon light and try it.
