Your Bose Cayenne Stereo can suck only 1/2 as bad as your friends say it does.

Last night I was replacing a blown speaker and upon testing with the speaker grill off I was let to believe my other dash tweeter wasn't working. Turns out the thick speaker grill covering greatly reduces not only the the highs from the tweeters but the volume.

Took both grill covers off and cut the thick felt off from under the grills. Seeing how its almost fashionable now again to show the speaker (aka Bimmer M6, etc). It turned out pretty good for 5 min.

Here are some pics.

interesting - easy to remove?

Now it's going to fill up with dust and die :p People make fun of Bose because of its high price tag and low quality parts.

If Blose spent half of their marketing budget on their product development, the jokes would likely cease.

I think people really make fun of Bose because it sounds like a speaker with a pillow on top of it. If there was a market for that, they would have it cornered.

The top covers were harder than need be to remove. Make sure you pry open the top cover and not cover and the speaker base.

I've never heard one person complain about Bose being "muffled".

er.. lack of clarity, crispness, high's, tight bass, etc. all problems with Bose and all something approximated by my pillow over speaker comment. :)

hmmmm,,, my Bose seems to be in great working condition, not sure how much people expect from the car audio, but the factory Bose system is more than enough for my taste, very satisfied with them so far.

Brentis Apr 17, 2010 06:53 PM

huskyfan23 Apr 17, 2010 07:24 PM
