Fuse 44 - Blown Multiple Times
Hello Forums:
Correction: Fuse 45 has blown repeatedly in my Cayenne S. It is the fuse responsible for the backrest adjustment of the Driver's Seat. It blew the first time 6 months ago. I replaced it with a new fuse and it operated fine for 6 months. Recently, it blew, and after replacing it, it blew less than 30 seconds later. Could anyone point me at a possible problem before I take it into a mechanic? To reiterate: My seat can move back and forth en-masse. However, the vertical backrest does not work, nor turning on the heated seat. Thanks! |
If you can remove the front cover on the bottom to look at it, a harness might have gotten chafed from the seat moving and exposed bare wiring to a ground. I'd try to follow wires first, and then if you are up to it, remove switches for the heater and the backrest to see if they are shorted.

Thanks for the reply!
I removed the front cover and did a check. It's really hard to follow the wires as the space is extremely cramped. Is there a better way to check? I'm quite novice. I hope you don't mind the questions. Also, I've replaced the fuse and it seems to be working fine, but I would like to get to the root of the problem rather than constantly replace fuses. Thanks! |

PM me your email. I have a .pdf saved of the seat wiring diagram. It shows fuse 44 as the heater. Maybe that will help you trace a few things.
