Suggestion for extended warranty?

any recommended company/group to buy extended warranty from?
anyone tried Paragon Motor Club?

I'm in the same boat. I have just under 40k miles on my 06 Turbo. They quoted me $2700 for 3 year upto 75,000 miles.

Worried alot of stuff that could break, wouldnt be covered anyway (ie collant tubes).

Maybe we can get a better deal if we both sign?

Markenstein3D 10-14-2010 06:32 PM

good idea :-) it's about that price.. would it be a good decision not to have warranty?

if i find this shop that's working/checking on the car right now to be a good place - i.e. trustworthy, honest and not rape you in charges.. then maybe i won't need it (coils - not covered, coolant pipes - maybe? etc) - regular maintenance should hopefully do the trick..

hey.. i'll ask the agent about it.. i'll tell him if i get one more to buy a coverage at the same time, they'll probably give us something right? buy 2 get something, or nothing (for them)

hey munch, if you are really serious, let me know.. the agent that i'm working with is very aggressive in selling the coverage.. he offered me $50 less on the deductible if i have signed yesterday, telling me it's just a promo for that one day.. now he's telling me he can extend that 'til 6pm (central) tomorrow.. he just want to sell this (desperate).. maybe we can use this in our advantage :-)

If you can't get the Porsche factory CPO extended warranty, put $5000 in a seperate bank account and forget about the 3rd party warranties.

Markenstein3D 10-14-2010 07:22 PM

i guess i'll wait for the shop on what they find after the check-up/inspection (hopefully they give me good news).. brake job is next.. i may have them to install new plugs.. i found an aluminum coolant pipe on ebay (speaking of which, i need to search for it again).. if the car holds up without any major issues for a year, that's money for me in the bank - to setup the cayenne (GIAC chip, exhaust, CAI)

Munch 10-14-2010 09:17 PM

Here's the specifics on what he quoted me. And from what I read the coolant tubes are not covered...

Extended warranty quote
2006 Porsche Cayenne
AWD
38,000 miles
Ultimate Plan (includes navigation option)
$50 deductible
3 year 75k mile plan $2733
4 year 100k mile plan $3409

I also wonder if I'm better off chancing not getting the warranty, and paying out of pocket should something arise.

I haven't found anyone with experience with these guys, just wonder how they can offer this warranty if they "plan" on paying out more than they take in...

Suncoast porsche has the kit for a bit less:

i have posted this same question in other forums.. i'd say 85% suggests not to buy it.. keep the cash in the bank (invest to mutual funds, etc).. hhmm.. if the common problems aren't covered, then it's useless..

Munch 10-14-2010 10:22 PM

I figure if I buy it, nothing will break. If I don't the engine will fall out :)

I was to purchase the Paragon Motor Club warranty.. when they asked for the VIN, they said that they don't cover twin turbo cars.. bummer!

Markenstein3D 10-16-2010 10:09 AM

got a quote from United Car Care for $3,040 (5yrs/75k miles).. covers most of whatever will break (and then there's the porsche coverage on the coils) so i think i'll get this one.. anyone have experience with this company?

Munch 10-17-2010 10:33 AM

Sales guy from Paragon told me they covered Turbos...
