Over spec'd S .. the 26k TT dilemma..HELP!

Well I am in a bit of a pickle. I have spec'd my S (hard) and have one week to figure our the colours etc. or go TT. I am about 26k + interest away from a similar (missing a few options) TT. This is our first Porsche and our first SUV but have "dreams" of keeping it a long time. We mostly do city driving, I barely get a chance to push the 135. I test drove the V8 and it was smooth and fast but I have a feeling the TT will keep me happy and satisfied for a longer period of time. Sales guy keeps saying if you get TT now then what will be next; I keep saying I have added so many things that are standard (full leather, sports exhaust etc.) on the TT that in the end I might as well pull the trigger and save myself the possibility of having to buy another Cayenne just to go to the next level.

If you are able to do it, go for the TT
I hope to be happy with mine for the next 7 years - until next major redesign :)

If you have the means, then definitely go with the TT..

We had the same issue...my wife was OK with the S, but by the time we outfitted it the way I wanted it, we were within $15k of a similarly-equipped 2011 Cayenne Turbo...there are so many things that are standard on the Turbo, such as alcantara headliner (nice touch) which is $1,990 on the other models, full leather (expensive option, but well worth it), Bose, XM, and the list goes on and on...of course, you also get the huge power difference, larger, better brakes, and the comfort that you got the best model out there. We went for the Turbo (got it last week) and are so happy we did that. My wife, who is an aggressive driver, really appreciates the extra power and we now drive this car to dinner more than we used to drive her 2008 GTS. It is actually fun to drive. If you can swing it, get the Turbo. You won't regret it. Just my 2 cents.

I have custom ordered a CS with 44K worth of options that is 5 K over a base CTT. If I wanted the exact vehicle on the CTT I would have to spend another 20K. I am very happy with my NA 997.2. If you drive a turbo, you will be conditioned by it's power and you may not like anything else. I don't know what that power is like, hence not regrets here.

I was in the same boat fully spec'd out S with approx 20k away from the Turbo. Drove the S and Turbo back to back again and went with the turbo. Didn't want to deal with thinking of having the extra 100hp and end up trading it in for an upgrade few years down the road.

I have the 2011 S and it listed for about 78k. Cheapest TT I have seen was $109k. I trade every year due to high miles so I thought it would be much more costly to trade the TT after 12 months especially for another one. If you plan to keep it 5 years or more, I'd get the TT. Over that length of time, the added cost won't matter much. I have to say I am surprised at the number of TT buyers there are, considering the price point. Well worth the price, but I never realized there were that many people fired up about spending a hundred grand on a 500hp SUV.

I meant to add that my wife want to replace her '10 S with a TT when she gets another one!

Remember the cayenne IS heavy, and after a while its really not THAT fast in the grand scheme of things. Go for the TT all the way. You will be sooo glad u did:)

when i was looking for a cayenne 4 yrs ago.. i test drove the base v6.. was happy... test drove a v8 (S), happier.. then comes the TT.. wow! get the TT, cut some options if you can.. resale value is much better if incase that happens... TT's hold their values compared to a fully optioned S..

I wish I could quote you all... thank you so much! Decision made - I am going TT for sure now. We put very little kms (miles) a year so plan on keeping it a very long time. The only thing I have to do is pick the colors. Interior is tough - luxor beige or umbar/cream? Outside - umbar, black, or jet black metallic?
