Shocks for my lowered CayenneS?

I just bought lowering springs for my Cayenne S. I have heard that my stock shocks will quickly get destroyed and I will have to get aftermarkets.

Is this true?

My CS has about 30k miles on it and I put Techart 22's on. Now I want to lower it to close that wheel gap.

What do you guys think?

Dave

They won't affect the stock shocks, I have my techart springs for 15k miles and I have the 22" for 2-3k miles and everything is perfect...

good luck guys and photos please

Hey dave,

Where in Redbank are you located, I live about 5-10 minutes away off exit 117. I also have an office in Redbank, which I stop in about once a week. How long have you had your Cayenne? Did you join Jersey Shore or NNJ PCA? Who's doing the cutom work on your Cayenne?

Cheers,
Corey

Hey guys...thanks for the responses!

Deetz...I'll post a pic as soon as the springs go on...can't wait!

Corey...whats your email address? I have had my CS for about 15months. Not a member of any clubs but would love to meet up with some fellow Porsche drivers. Drop me an emai at dave.merces@cecoinc.com.

Springs are going on this week! I'll post some pics soon!

In a search I found this thread. So do you need to replace your shocks when you get new springs? There should be some with years of experience now.

Thanks
U

I still have yet to see anyone replace their shocks with the springs on the Cayenne. The shock wear is compromised when lowering, but they should still last a considerable amount of mileage. Maybe some others who have replaced their shocks can chime in? Long story short, I still think just replacing the springs is fine for you.

TC, I appreciate the answer. What about towing? When you drop it with the new springs, does it affect towing? Now I'm not towing crazy weight, but something I would want to consider.

Anyone with experience?
