Squeal 04 CS screams at start
My 04 CS makes a large squealing belt noise at start up on occasion. Just a belt or something else more costly? Any one have this experience?

Same with my 04 CS. It's been doing it for 2 years. it's kind of random. Every time I take her to the dealer they can't duplicate it. Man, this CS is so problematic. My coolent pipe just went just got that repaired. Now the driveshaft just went. Stering wheel shakes 56K miles. Sucks! I'm donating this piece of S#$t to Father Joe. Hope they take it.

What is the drive shaft issue? Did the cooling tubes.. No more problems
|
The center support bearing is busted. A common 04 - 05 problem.
|
sound like u need new belt the colder the louder
|
Center support bearing is where? And how much to change?
|
Center support bearing of the drive shaft. $ 900- 1K.

guys if you mean the cardan shaft, any off road shop can probably replace the bearing and housing for 150 bucks if in stock.
Or go to vertex for replacement shaft, youll get a refund when you ship your damaged one back to them........350.... The cardan shaft should produce a bumping sound under the center consol when it really goes. |
There is no way this noise can be the driveshaft is he just started the car and is not yet moving. If it is immediately after you start the car and you get a noise similar to something that sounds like a pigeon call or squeely/fluttery type noise for just a second or two, it sounds like the starter is still hanging up and is not disengaging fully.

If you read my post from before. i didn't refer the noise to the drive shaft bearing. Rather i was venting how problematic the 04 cayenne is.
