Exclamation !!The new high pressure fuel pump review!

Guys,

Just got her back from the dealership, they replaced the DFI engine's high pressure fuel pump with a better one because of a campaign, and my first impressions are:

1-) Engine starts at least 50% faster, up to 75-80% faster when starting a cold engine.

2-) Smoother idling.

3-) Better engine noise when you pop the hood and listen to the engine carefully.

Good to hear, what campaign are you referring to? I haven't received any notification from Porsche USA.

was the pump replaced during routine service?
or did you have to ask about the tsb or lodge a complaint about something specific for the dealer to change the pump?

so campaign means I can schedule with the dealer and have them replaced the said part for free of charge? or does it require a service in order to get the campaign?

Okay, confirmed. This campaign only applies to face-lifted 1st generation Cayenne, 2008-2010.

I called and provided VIN# and the Porsche service adviser ran against their computer and informed me that my CS is in good working order

I got my '08 GTS back today, after having the pump installed (warranty).

I had some trouble with the car taking to long to crank up, but just figured it was cold blooded. Acceleration always felt decent, but it lacked the punch I expected when flooring it, especially at lower rpm. Then, this past weekend, driving back from Vegas, I was losing power for a few seconds at a time, then the rpms would come back. I'd press on the gas, nothing would happen, and then it would roar back to life. Freaked me out a little So, I took it in...

Man, what a difference. Acceleration is way better, and the car starts right up. I'm pretty shocked at the difference.

If you haven't had yours checked for the campaign for the pump, do it!

Hmmm... Does anyone know if the same applies for the Turbo, or was the turbo pump already the higher pressure one?

Thanks!
