Unhappy Check your tires

Took my Cayenne to dealer, 7040 miles, front tires down to the steel cords on the inside of each tire. Have 20in Michelins on it. Dealer called tonite to say that front and rear alignment is out and they have not got it within specs yet, will work on it again in the morning. What do you think my chances are for Porsche paying for new tires?

Your chances?

Seriously, thanks for the heads-up. I have just over 11,000 on mine (same tires) so I better head out to the garage.

Eric, dealership did the alignment front and rear, two new front tires under warranty, go figure, I thought I would have to fight them.

That's great news. I'm glad to hear it worked out for you!

Just changed all 4 tires out at 7245 miles. 20" Technos.Michelin Diamaris 275/40R 20 rubber. '04 Cayenne TT.The fronts were showing the cords, the rears maybe had a couple of thousand left on them. I never had any problems as far as alignment was concerned .The wear was fairly even across the tire tread. Cords were starting to be exposed on the tire center. Had the alignment checked when they installed the new skins, and everything was within tollerance. I also asked if there were any warranty issues regarding the allignment issue after reading the post by jgraham. No such luck tho'.I guess that I'll have to take the mountain twisties a little easier in future.
