Madamme's CT arrives monday

well,

as predicted by tyson "i told you so" hamann7, the QP missed a few days in service and we're gently returning it to Maserati. So she decided to try a Cayenne Turbo....new 05 in silv/blk

i drove the QP over the mountains last night and it really is an excellent sports sedan, when it's in service.. I hope the CT doesnt feel too heavy for its power and handling capabilities... any comments?

and what about this fabspeed exhaust and other stuff i hear about??? is it worth it since my wife will hardly ever put the pedal to the floor?

thanks guys

Congratz.... I wouldnt recommend the fabspeed bypass if ur wife is driving IMO.

i think it's handling prowess in the mountains is going to shock you. it is highly doubtful you will remotely approach it's limits because they are so much higher than you would ever think remotely possible given the weight and height. it will slide instead of roll over. driving the CT remotely close to it's limits in the twisties is a very sureal experience just because it defies all belief given it's weight.

btw, good going on returning the QP. typical mazer reliability and it's uglier than tan in a titanium stradale :D

ben,

glad to hear you say the CT will handle!!!! pretty critical since she pounds the mtn twice a day..... i look forward to trying it, and the truck is on its way to my house.

i think the maser looks good, and it does have couio, or dark tan, interior....

ben,

look carefully and you'll see the "tan" seats, actuall the entire interior...

watt: we want some photos ^^ yes the truck can handle very well, I am very impressed, I can do 80mph in a very curvy road... ^^

Wow the maserari looks HOT! I love the looks of that car, had no idea they pose a lot of problems though.

Ive been trying to convince my father to get one for himself, how does the thing drive? Is it a M5 type of car or more of a S55? Does it have a fast launch or is it heavy?

How does the pricing go on these things? are they asking for a markup? how much msrp would I be looking at for a reasonably loaded one?

and we want MORE PICS!

Ben, Watt lives up in the twisties. In fact, there is probably no one on this board (maybe not even you) who drives mountain twisties more often than he does, since he has to commute up and down every day. I was given the report today that the CT exceeded all expectations.

For Watt to say that the Cayenne is "a true Porsche" is a big statement considering how much he resisted the car and Porsche engineers should be very proud indeed. Also keep in mind that Watt drove a fairly modified E39 M5 for over a month prior to the Cayenne, so he was spoiled by torque and good handling in a sedan.

Needless to say, I am glad I was able to talk him into the CT. I need another 4-door this summer, and I can't think of a better car for everyday use than the Cayenne Turbo no matter how many times I analyze it.

Another victory for the Porsche Evangelist!:D

i put a hurtin on an E39 M5 in the twisties in our CT so i'm not surprised. and the CT, has more torque (and earlier) than the E39 - even if the CT is carrying a lot more pork.

miss mine very much...

was reading the newest ''CAR'' mag it said the facelift CT will probably have 5.0 from 4.5 & possibly another 100hp gain. clubsport package & PCCB will be option as well. that sounds fishy funny & pointless but i wouldn't mind having one. :D
