"start engine" warning at every single start

my 04 CTT gives the "start engine" warning every time it starts.
i already changed the battery at trunk.
i did not see any related code from durametric. car drives normal.
why is that??
thanks for any tips

I believe that has something to do with the "Kessy" or immobilizer system control unit. Do a search for a Technical bulletin for that issue. Good luck.

Did you replace the battery in the trunk or the one under the driver's seat? That warning is typically shown when the primary battery (which is under the driver's seat) is starting to weaken. The secondary (optional) battery is the one in the trunk and is only used to start the car in case of primary battery failure.

i replaced the one at back, not the one under the seat. i did check the one under the seat and the print on one of the post shows it is only couple of years old.
the only problem that i have is that my drive way is sloped. and i noticed that there was quite a bit of acid leaking from the breather hole onto the antiroll bar at rear. so i changed the rear battery to a gel one. not sure if i should do the same thing to the one at the seat.
