New Member Intro, New to Me '09 GTS

Hello All,
I ended up picking up a 2009 GTS from Carmax here in Austin today. I had it transferred from Garland and drove it last Friday. It was incredibly clean, but I took my time to research its' VIN and do my best to piece together the car's history.

This one was purchased new at Park Place Dallas, then certified and sold there last year with 22K miles. The owner before me drove it 7500 miles and then traded it...Carmax bought it at auction.

I traded my '08 535i with a Sport Auto and will miss that car dearly, but I need more room for growing family. This thing is a monster, yet so smooth when driven delicately. I have a LOT to learn and am glad this forum is as active and helpful as Bimmerfest. In fact, already have a question:
When I push the Source button, only FM, AM, and Disc appear as options, yet according to the VIN decoder and the Park Place listing, this car has Satellite and the center console iPod/Aux ports. Any idea where they might be hiding? Is it possible there's just a software glitch and I need to visit the dealer? I have two weeks left under original warranty, then my MaxCare will have to take over.

I look forward to learning from all of you and couldn't be happier to be driving a Cayenne.

Small pics from when it was sold at Park Place below...looks the same today. I need to set up my own photo shoot soon!

Welcome! Great looking ride. About your issue. Nitpick the hell out of your car now while you have a porsche warranty. You don't know what may or may not be covered under the aftermarket one. Bring it in and have them reflash the car.

I've got an appointment for next Wednesday, which I'm hoping will give me time to shake out any other bugs.

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome and congrats pgaATX !! It looks like you made a great choice Nice job on getting an appointment setup right away. Hopefully this weekend you can go over it with a fine tooth comb. Now get some Euro Clear Side Markers for that beast. Enjoy and keep us updated on what you find out.

Thanks guys. Nice clears!

I read the manuals last night and figured out how to get the AUX, USB, & iPod inputs to show up only to find out that there's not an adapter for an iPhone 5 yet (according to my service advisor). Guess I can just run a jack from the headset to the AUX port.

Now to figure out this SAT issue.

Otherwise, the car is awesome.

You can get a adapter for iPhone 5. 30 pin to lightning adapter. They sell them at best buy for 30 bucks I believe.

Seriously! Happy to be here...oh, and I sorted out the SAT issue with my local dealer. It's a coding issue...SAT isn't turned on, but a phone option only available in Europe is. They're going to fix that when I bring it in next week for it's final original warranty visit.

Like I said. NITPICK THE **** OUT OF THE CAR!! Stupid little things. The door rattles a little, the speakers sound off, the suspension creaks, etc. get whatever you can get fixed under warranty before it gets fixed out of your pocket. I'm glad your issue got resolved.
