Silver Calipers suck, what wheel cleaner do you guys use...
My calipers are full of greasy brake dust. How do I clean them without damaging my OEM rims or the caliper finish.

i too need to know. My brake calipers are filthy.

can't be lazy with the caliper on the S since it's kinda like matt finish. if u don't wipe/clean regularly then u're screwed. :(
|
My car is 3 weeks old. What do I do? What can I use? I made the mistake once of using the wrong wheel cleaner on my boxster and it etched the calipers and I had to have them repainted black.
What brand/type do you guys use. Thanks in advance, Corey |
P21S wheel cleaner. Porsche uses this and relabels it as Porsche wheel cleaner
Arnie |
I'm screwed

Use soap and water to clean your calipers. I have Stoptechs on my car and the Porsche on es on my wife's cayenne soap and a microfiber towel has worked well for me.

all you need to do is just use whatever wheel cleaner you like or stick your hand inside and wash it with soap. But when you take of your wheels or when u have your car detailed, wash the calipers really clean and put some wax on it, it will help you to clean it just by spraying water to it.

That's the problem I don't really use wheel cleaner now on any car(Just soap and water, but these cayenne rims suck I can't get to the caliper). So I was hoping to pick something up today at PepBoys, any recomendations?

Get a spoke brush and Eagle One A2Z, it is acid free and avalible at chain stores. IMO for the veicles you drive, I would only buy products of the highest quality from online retailers such as www.premiumautocare.com, www.properautocare.com, www.topoftheline.com
A good wheel cleaner is needed espacially on a cars which produce serious brake dust, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW etc.. If you keep your wheels clean the brake dust will not bake onto the wheels so much, and it will be easier to remove |
id remove the wheels, clean the calipers and then put some wax or metal sealant to prevent/reduce future dust from sticking

Well I decided to wait and I ordered P21S Wheel Gel, P21S Wheel Cleaner spray and some more Rejex. I guess I'm going to try to put Rejex on the calipers in addition to the wheels.
Hopefully $80 bucks in wheel cleaning stuff and I finally have clean calipers. |
i need to order some stuff this weekend then for the caliper cleaners, if it doesn't work then BBK it is....raja

Forumula 2001 has no acids involved, that is why I use it on hard to clean items......
