PSM off or on?
Hi all,
Do you guys drive your CTT with PSM off as a DD default? If so does this take a toll on the engine? As for me I like the PSM off and the response of the engine. Been doing it for 2 weeks. 1st week PSM off + manual. 2nd week tried with PSM off +auto. I like the default auto. It shift just the right amount of power I need it. The big question again is...Is it good for the engine in the long run? Thank in advance. |
i dont think it will make any difference in longevity, maybe a drop in mpg tho.. i don't like how slow the pedal reaction is from a dead stop but starting in first for normal stop and go seems ridiculous to me.... too much gear. that said, i do drive mine (06 turbo s) pretty easy for the most part, but hammer the piss out of it at times. my easy driving mixed avg for mpg is 17.9 tho... that can hit 12 or less when i get the need... did i also mention i have only put about 300 miles on it since it arrived 4 weeks ago lol. I had the tach at 6k rpm in 6th recently :)

Mine is on 99% of the time. Turn it off for auto crossing.
Usually just flick the steering wheel shifter to put it in first at lights. Modded 04 Turbo.maverage crazy mileage in mixed, mostly city, driving. But it goes WOT everyday at some point. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ine=1365689631 |

I drive right around the speed limit around town. No need to get tickets for something stupid and not very fun like 10-15 over.
But....in the corners and on ramps the hammer is down! Still get decent overall fuel mileage. |
Cole, that's crazy! I can't manage to get more than 15.4 mpg no matter what.

When was the last time you did spark plugs? This can really help. Also, just keeping your foot out of it (which is insanely hard to do ;-). Nice car BTW. |

I managed to get 16.1 today. From what I know, my spark plugs are original with 40k miles on them.
I think it's about $400 or so, not cheap, but then again, is anything on the Cayenne? :D |
Its not plugs, its your right foot :) if you put the consumption readout on in the main menu or via the trip computer it is a very good aid in assisting driving habit adjustment for max mpg...
