starter motor

my 05 v8 4.5s needs a new starter motor i guess, as sometimes it will only crank on the second turn of the key- sometimes it stops turning over the engine mid crank- also seems very sluggish at starting- had the coolant pipe upgrade about 4 months ago- possable coolant has killed the starter- my question is this:- do i need to remove the new alloy coolant pipes to replace the starter motor
thanks guys

I believe that the starter is under the coolant pipes. So i'm thinking yes,you will have to remove them to get to the starter.

Try new battery first.
My Q7 used to do that when the battery got weak.

Good luck

The starter can be wiggled out without removing any of the pipes. It's a tight fit, but doable.
But like Antoni said, check your battery first.
