I have an 08 GTS manual w/PDCC & full leather (added fab speed bypasses) that I bought new. I may never let it go. For me, the sound and manual tranny are key; I really like to drive it. Whatever I add to the stable will be a manual and I hope will have decent sound (maybe an R8 or older 911 turbo)

i don't have pdcc but otherwise same - thinking of just stuffing it away for a number of years and run something else through the winters.

I never test drove a Turbo but

Forgot to mention, I have a problem with modding the car before I even get it, so I'm leaning turbo
I expect the extra performance would be worth a lot of smiles. My 09 GTS gives me smiles every time I drive it. The Turbo is more money tho, so that is a factor. For me the price is a big deal as I plan to leave my GTS up at my Chicago summer place next year and get a near-new Macan for down here at my home in FL. Either way, you will enjoy it.

Personally, I am waiting for someone to get a 957 CTTS, mod it up to the 700-800 hp range, then transfer a 957 GTS tranny and TCU in it (because manual 6Speed). Maybe even do an AWD to 2WD conversion at the same time. I can only imagine the type of trouble one can get themselves into

You mean the only one crazy enough... either that or pick up a salvaged Panny Turbo strip the interior (weight reduction), chop the wheelbase (weight reduction), add roll cage, then tune the engine at the limits of what the PDK can do. Both would be fun one-off projects.

you guys have talked me up....

Into considering a Turbo on my next one. So many of you aficionados can't be that wrong. It's just that the earlier turbos I had 15 - 20 years ago turned me off with such huge turbo lag. I need to get up to today's turbo benefits...

Agreed. Turbo all the way. When I test drove the GTS it felt lethargic...like it was missing a couple of turbos

coming from what I was driving,

The GTS is not lethargic. I would have preferred the CTT, but am very doubtful I could get any decent 09 CTT at anywhere near the $32k price I paid for my 09 GTS. This GTS will end up relocated to my Chicagoland condo in the next year for all-season use up there and I will get something newer and cooler for down here where we live in FL. I'm thinking either a 3rd gen CGTS or CTT our maybe a slightly used Macan Turbo. Anyway it goes, I think I will enjoy the next one.

I just got an 08 GTS with manual transmission (traded in my STI), I agree it is not a sports car, but I just don't enjoy driving an automatic.

The vehicle is in great shape but I cannot get the rear dif to lock, any ideas on what is wrong?

rear diff lock is optional, real rare option. almost all have just indicator that can't come in.

Y'all should also know that my 09 GTS has only the leather interior option, but almost everything that is not leather is Alcantera. So my belief is the CTT's do not buy you anything better interior-wise than what you get with a GTS with leather interior. Not sure about the CS...

The CS is all leather no Alcantera. I am sure there was an option some where but I am sure you would end up with a CS that would have cost more than a Turbo.
