CTT vehicle lift points/mounts
CTT vehicle lift points/mounts
When I went to install new tires on my car, the shop told me that the rear mount points for the jack are cracked.
Is this something that Porsche should be replacing free of charge, as it is not supposed to crack at all? I am out of warranty but wonder what I can do here.
Thanks.

Sounds fishy. Are they using a floor jack or a lift. If you're using a lift, there are two locations alternatives for placing the lift pad contact points on the chassis, and I don't see how either of them could crack.
Here's the page from the owner's manual. The rear points are shown on the left:

Point "C" is a very hard rubber contact area (shaped like a "[" bracket), and point "D" also has a hard rubber suffer. Not sure how either of these lift points would crack . . . Are they talking about the lower side trim piece?

Agreed since the lift points are steel. They are most likely talking about a plastic trim piece in the same vicinity.
You're saying the metal plate the hard rubber base is attached to cracks? I don't see how that's possible. I can see the side plastic trim by the mount point cracking, but not the mount point. So long as the contact pad of the lift is under the hard rubber portion, there's just no way for it to crack. Wondering if you have a picture to share of a cracked one?
Not the metal. I'll see if I can get a pic of one...
Edit: Here you go. These are part number 95550412301 if I'm not mistaken. They are about $15 each and just bolt up with two bolts, so they aren't hard to replace.

Thanks for the picture. I didn't realize the rear supports were a detachable part, probably because I've never seen one from the angle in the picture. By the time I have the Cayenne up on my lift, I can't see the mounting support as bolted to the vehicle (since that's where the vehicle is lifted), but I am always very careful to get the lift pad of the lift in the right spot under the lift support before taking it up in the air. Now I'll be even more careful knowing those things can be broken. At least I know now that both of my rear supports are 100% intact.
