Yeah I was wondering if those would work with the Cayennes...I have been lurking over at Club Touareg for quite awhile. Anybody on here running them? The Seikel set looks nice, but 1700 Euros is a little steep. A new set of Bilstein HDs and the spacers looks like a more affordable option.

Kind of off topic, but does anyone know if the 17" OEM base rims will clear the 350mm brakes on the CS?

 

The 350's should be ok but the 380 or PDCC are a no go. I have 2 sets of OEM 17's I have played with over the years.

The Euro is pretty low compared to the Dollar so it might never be cheaper. I would also recommend finding quality or US made over Bilstein, alot of Bilstein replacement stuff is China based. It will work but for a few hundred more, you'll have a longetivity that has value.

 

Hi all - Just picked up a 2005 GTS with 60k miles and have the inclination to lift it and/or go up in tire size. Two quick questions:

1. How straightforward is it to swap to a 'static' spring+shock setup? Any aftermarket Cayenne / Toureg / etc. kits that would directly fit with minimal custom fab work? I've been reading that it isn't possible to 'trick' the computer to allow the air suspension to remain in the highest clearance setting.

2. If I don't touch the factory air suspension, what is the biggest tire I can fit if I retain the factory 19in wheels? I'm also prepared to go to a smaller wheel depending on the max size that can be accommodated.

3. How reliable is the factory air suspension? Any known issues I should keep an eye out for?
