How is it holding?

So Mr. Haney - you used Gorilla Glue to create an expanding cement "rivet head" to keep the clips intact? How is it working still? I'm ready to doing the same, except using 100% Pure Silicone Caulking.

Are the clips supposed to be centered inside the four recessed dot indents on each fiber board clip backing?

Well, the pig has been sitting in the hot *** garage or non air conditioned shop daily for almost three years and the fix is still as good as day one! Yes, I drilled out some holes on the flat of the plastic clip so that the glue could ooze thru and hold the outside kind of like making the glue structural and holding like a rivet. Its been a while but I did just use the old marks on the inside of the seat back to know where to locate them. My 2002 a4 did the same thing and I also applied the fix there. I don't think the silicone is going to "wet" well enough and wick into the fiberboard to make a secure bond though.

I 3D printed beefier lower clips. Combined with 3M silicone caulk oozing from the clip base holes, forming glue "rivets"....it's now solid:

I have repaired mine twice in the past three years, first time using two part epoxy on the broken lower clips and 3M emblem glue on upper clips. I used Gorilla glue on the most recent repair.
Making new 3D printed clips seems like a workable solution. I'm curious to see how well the silicone holds up to the tension and heat over time.
Good, luck

The weak link was the failure of the lower clips... which creates a cascading effect. Once the lower clips are made beefy - the uppers are hardly ever stressed.
