My rear hatch handle won't open the hatch on my 2006 Cayenne. If I unlock the rear glass panel the hatch door handle works and opens the hatch. How do I resolve my issue?

 

There is plastic plug in your hatch, bottom center. Open it to get hatch open. then you have to remove inner trim to get to handle. There is micro switch in handle, and few torx or allen srews holding it. Remove and check this switch, if it opens your tailgate when pressed, you gave bent handle (easy fix - just unbend it.) If it wont open tailgate, you will have to change microswitch or you have cracked wires in tailgate hinge, which is least possible.
