One of my low-beams is shining pink light instead of bright-white.. Might have been good for breast-cancer awareness month but not so good for night driving. Based on some quick reading, it appears my xenon bulb is on it's way out.
Has anyone replaced the bulbs? Is it just the D1S bulb? Found genuine online for $160/each but found plenty of other brands (Philips/etc) for $60 each. Just wondering if I should stick to OEM or use another brand. I plan on replacing both to keep color as close as possible...
There are lots of phonies sold on ebay and Amazon - very good phonies in regards to how close they look to real ones. Your best bet - Philips has a website they own where you can order from vendors (including Amazon) they recommend. Use that website.
The phonies are known for being bad out of the box or very short lifespans. And I'd replace both as you plan to - if one went bad - the other one is thinking about it..
Yup, I read about the phonies. I purchased two Philips D1S's and just got them today. Probably one of the easiest bulb replacements that I did. No more pink eye for me!
