Picking up 09 GTS & Tire Question

Guys,

Need some advise - Picking up a 09 GTS tomorrow. The owner had to replace a rear tire last week. The opposite tire is at minimum tread depth. I have about 800 miles to drive. I have ordered all new tires but they do not arrive until next week. Will i damage the drive line with the two tires so far out of side to side tolerance?

Thanks Joe

After you install the new tires I would recommend an all-around alignment as well.

I agree that for a short distance, with all the traction control and suspension monitoring systems there should be no damage. I have an 09 GTS too. I found out very quickly that the Pirelli Pzero tires that were on it when I bought it didn't even last for 5k miles!! At that point they were great for track racing (bald) but absolutely worthless on the street. I switched to Continental Extreme Contact DWS06. They are awesome and I am getting close to 20k miles from them and replace them with 50% tread left. I never let my tires go past the 50% (5/32").
Continental gives me 25% credit at trade in!
