Hela headlight Control module won't recognize. Please help!
 

Hi All:

Car is 2008 Cayenne.

I bought two Hela-branded headlight control modules from ebay. I've installed them unto customer's car, they light up, but are not syncing with the steering wheel turning. PIWIS does not recognize the modules, so no coding/programming can be done.

The Hela controller was sold by Lichtex from Germany, 970.618.143.02, but the actual units labels show "AFG-GDL-Steu... 12V 5DC 009 060-31 1100v DC 85v ac 35W nom."

Anyone has experience on a third-party controller from Hela? Please help. Thanks!

From a number of posts on other forums - apparently only the Porsche provided ballasts will work, and must be coded to the vehicle with PIWIS. This is probably done to discourage headlight theft.
