Nav-Tv's iPod connection - Pics added

Nav-TV's iPod direct connect- finally the way that my iPod should have sounded in my car from day 1.

Not difficult to install, and pretty reasonable interface controls on the factory screen.
It uses the trademarked iPod connector cable from any iPod to a Cat-5 end, which plugs into the back of the "brainbox" -the small Nav-TV unit. There is also a power connector to the Nav-TV unit, which in turn charges your iPod. The third connector to the Nav-TV unit is the M.O.S.T. interface cable.

You can display and search by somg, artist, playlist etc.

cons: I haven't been able to access contacts, or calenders, pictures, or other
stored info. and I am pretty sure this is not accessible anyway (too
bad).
Can't scroll effortlessly through your entire iPod's content quickly like on
the iPod with the click wheel.
iPod cannot be controlled via its own buttons, once synched with the
head unit just displays "Nav-TV".
The central Steering wheel dash display doesn't show any valuable info.

Most controls have to be entered from the head unit, all with the dial knob on the lower right, but then after a selection, the steering wheel can control track to track jump, and of course volume, mute, and changing sources (FM, AM, CD in the dash, and iPod)

Sounds superb and worth the $$ 800.00 plus tax ad in $35 for a house call.
There is no readable manual as of yet but the rep at Nav-TV says that he was adding a few finishing touches to a final draft, so one should be coming down the pipeline soon.

Anyone in Chicago should call SOUNDz Plus @ 630-393-3333 and ask for Marty. He will hook you up.

Looks great! https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ons/icon14.gif
Will it work on vehicles without Nav?

I'm not buying it. Twice the price of my ipod to connect it with the PCM. I'll stick with my wired fm modulator.

Yes, however, as you would expect there would be less info available on your display and, therefore make navigating somewhat cumbersome I imagine.

The great thing about NAV-TV is it allows you to connect a ton of different things into it.....Currently I have my video ipod, one connection for regular music and another for the AV function so I can watch music videos, tv shows or other downloaded media (from the ipod) on BOTH of my stock screens(NAV and Instrument cluster) While I also have a DVD player hookup and XBOX 360/PS2 with the Alpine V-Net hooked in for the XM Radio.....I dont know what I would do without my NAV-TV during traffic jams on the Jersey Turnpike!!! Great product.....Highly recommended

Your multimedia setup sounds sick.

You should add a Mac mini in the glovebox with bluetooth keyboard with integral trackpad. One dude did this with his Toyota Prius and he is able to use the screens touchpad interface still. - http://www.kusnetz.net/prius/

With all that sh*t in my car I would have to have my wife and a mattress in back so then I would never leave! hilarious
