Had Fabspeed bypass pipe installed today

I had the Fabspeed bypass pipe I bought from another 6Speeder installed today on my V6. The owneer at Rennwerke Porsche in Elmsford referred to my Cayenne as "the truck," but his price was good and fair, and he has a good reputation. He had a dry sense of humor, but appeared to really know his stuff- I will definitely return "the truck" for service any future times when I cannot get to something myself- I have no lift and man is it cooooold!

I have the BMC air filter installed, run Sunoco Ultra 93 from a good station, and jumped all over it onthe highway. The response has improved a little, and the exhaust note is pleasing without interior resonance.

I am glad I picked it up used for a good price, only paid $98 to have it installed (and they washed my"truck" because it was too dirty to enter his shop [he kidded me]), because had I paid the full price of $295 plus shipping and the $180 installation fee the stealer wanted I would be greatly disappointed.

I'll post a sound clip once it gets a little warmer.

Anyone else use Rennwerke in Elmsford?

Thanks Mohammed.

Not ricy at all, barely louder at idle.
Gave it a hard run on my way into work this morning and I do feel a difference in the response, but too cold to open the windows and listen.

The V6 hs just 1 pipe, Dave.

Does it sound more throaty & V8ish? Or more like M3ish (raspy sound)??

looking forward to the sound clip,

BD

Well, it certailnly doesn't sound anywhere as throaty as Hendrady's car or like my old '91 Mustang w/Hooker headers and Flowmasters; but, I guess I'll have to do some taping and let you guys decide for yourself.

Inside the cabin I can hear only a small difference- the V6 actually already had a nice sound to sart with when you are getting on it.

I won't be able to get to it until tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon, but I will post it on YouTube by Friday afternoon, if not sooner. It depends on my schedule the next couple of days.

Congrats Bobby! Glad I was able to help a fellow 6speeder out. I loved the pipe but my wife did not.

BobbySpeed

glad you like our bypass pipes. They free up noise and power on the V6 and especially the V8 cars.

enjoy

If your wife is not into the added "tone" of exhaust I would reconsider. Also guys make sure you get the latest ECU/tranmission flash from the dealer. My wife's truck mishifted quite a bit when we put this pipe in. Once the dealer reflashed the ECU with the latest program I had no more issues....

Interesting- anyone else experience this problem?
I only have 50 miles on the pipe (75 in an hour), but have failed to notice any difference in the characteristics of the tranny. Maybe since mine is an '06 I won't have the problem, but I'll be paying very close attention.

Bentley, I will give you my viewpoint about the Catbypass pipes with the Stock Muffler on my S it sounded fine at lower RPM's slightly aggressive from the stock setup from 1-4.3rpm after that it starts to sound Raspy, after a few weeks I decided to have the Fabspeed muffler and it seemed to elimnate the rasp and sounds even louder.

things I like about the Fabspeed Mufflers with Catayltic replacement pipes is that when you down shift from 2nd gear to 1st gear at 3rpm and below it gives a sweet burrble and at higher RPM's its very loud.
