New recall for 2004 Cayenne's
 

Just received a recall for my cayenne. It says the affected vehicles were unfortunately, fitted with a transfer gearbox on which, due to deformed casting, the oil pump can rotate inside the housing. The consequences of this is that the supply of oil to the transfer gearbox is unterrupted. This in turn leads to noises from the transfer gearbox. If the Vehicle continues to be drives in this condition, it can result in the transfer gearbox housing breaking. This condition could result in a crash without warning. :eek:

wow sounds like a serious recall, is it for all 2004 model?

this recall is not new though....

Mansour: if I don't get the recall card means that I don't need it right? So far I only received the wiring and the seat and thats it

really? i thought it was new because i never heard of the gearbox recall

The transfer gearbox recall applies only to some Cayennes. I have a 2004 Turbo and it is not included. I had the other 2 recalls performed last week - took about 30 minutes.
