2011 CTT stock exhaust vs. aftermarket system
2011 CTT stock exhaust vs. aftermarket system
For those that are driving the new CTT, how do you guys like the stock exhaust?
I love the Fabspeed muffler on the 997 bc it gives the car a much deeper sound,
would like to know if any of you has gotten one for the CTT? Do you think its necessary to get an after market exhaust system to enhance the sound?
here is (just) the muffler from fabspeed website:
2011 Cayenne S/Turbo Maxflo Muffler System $1,995

Normally I don't get to hear the fabulous exhaust sound from within especially with therm insulated glass, but the other day my wife drove off in it at a very gradual speed and WOW, love the sound, and this is stock sound. Not in sport mode and not giving it some heavy foot acceleration. Nice middle ground of magnificent sound..
have heard the differences in the past of what the fab pipes do, and I don't think you'd be disappointed either way. Personal preference but a good choice if you go that route, just not necessary, but what is in these CTT's...

For only $600 you could get the sw bypass pipes which actually add some significant power.
The bypass pipes did make a more muscular sound and I really felt the decrease in turbo lag and more pull. And then a evoms ecu tune for about the cost of the muffler and you added another 80hp/tq.

I did the bypass 1 month after getting the car and could really feel a difference and the sound was nicer too. Then 3 months later got the ecu tune which made it into a new car. It took a couple weeks for the ecu tune to take full effect though so be patient. But I recommend having the car stock for a while so you can feel the difference with the mods. You will be busy enjoying all the new amenities compared to the older models.
Sorry to the OP for this offtopic question but... can you give a comparison of your TTS to your 458 and have you tuned the TTS with a tune yet?
i just love the cayenne turbo sound while shifting the gear changing burble is music to my ears ..

We presently have a 2011 Cayenne Turbo that my wife drives that is stock so I have a lot of seat time in a stock CTT. I am not allowed to do any mods to her car.
Got a mod friendly dealer too
Evoms flash, and exhaust upgrade(not sure which one yet...) planned for my "11 non s"upon return to the US
Having that extra power on the autobahn would have been nice..but can't complain about how much more agile and tight my 11"non s" feels compared to my 09(Giac,tubi)

How much is the mpg affected with the above mentioned exhaust and ecu tune on a CTT. I'm liking the mpg so far relatively speaking compared to my other vehicles but don't want a huge decrease if I'd do smething like these.....
They dont decrease the MPG at all except for the fact that you are probably driving more aggresively with the added power. But if you drive it easy the MPG should stay the same.
To mteddylee, the bypass pipes do not void warranty the ecu tune can void warranty if the dealer wanted too. Some of these guys have mod friendly dealers and that is really great. I think it says something about the quality of the EVOMS ecu tune that the dealers recommend it and are willing to keep your warranty valid.
To imcarnuts, it sounds like you do have your seat time in a stock CTT. I was considering getting an 08CTT (non S) for a great price and it was really fast, almost seemed faster then my 11CTT when it was stock. But after driving the 11 and feeling the handling, agility and amenities.... I was sold. Congrats on your garage, it is an extrememly amazing group of cars you got.
