Just as the title suggests, give me your views on washing or keeping your Cayenne clean. Also, throw out some suggestions on washing essentials or tools that help make your washing easier? I'd also be interested in getting info on products people use for cleaning their interior.

I think this question applies to all vehicles but if you're only interested in what Cayenne owners do, then disregard.

I was my wifes car at least once a week.
I wash mine about 2 times per week.
For over 35 years I have used Turltle Wax Zip Wash. It's mild but strong enough to clean without stripping the wax. It rinses completely with a squeaky fingertip feel.
I wax the cars every other month for protection from the hot Florida sun and salt atmosphere. Waxing also protects from tree sap and bird doop.

Some people have crticized me for washing the cars so often but I igmore such rants and point at my car....how they look new as long as I have them.

I have several rules when it comes to my cars.

1) they get used and don't sit as garage queens.
2) they should look nice as there is no need for such cars to look like crap
3) they will never see the auto car wash tunnel

So this means I have to devote time, energy and effort and I do. I wash and vaccum the Cayenne every weekend and deep clean the interior every 4 weeks with Leatherique/pristine cleaner. I love the tools I have including the Kranzle pressure washer, CR spotless deionizer water source, double K airmax blower (got it from Moe at glistening perfection, great guy BTW). The Cayenne is not an easy vehicle to keep clean. Takes a good hour to wash the exterior and wheels meticulously. I don't touch the paint when drying it. The blower I use to dry the paint has heated, filtered air.

Ditto, have the same tools you do, got them from Moe, makes things easy and doesn't abuse the paint.

Wow and nice on the deionizer. I looked it up on Amazon and while I thought my RV water purifier was excessive versus others who may wash their own car, yours really knocks out of the park. But I think it's an excellent investments especially with all the P-cars you have.

As far as what I've been using, I've started buying a lot of highly recommended products on Amazon. Here's the list:

1. Mother's California Gold Car Wash
2. Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
3. Klasse All-in-one
4. Mothers 08216 California Gold Showtime Instant Detailer
5. Mothers 20324 FX Tire Shine
6. Lexol 1115 Leather pH Cleaner Spray
7. Lexol 1015 Leather Conditioner Spray
8. Camco 40043 TastePURE RV Water Filter

What you guys think of those products?

The cayenne should be pretty easy to clean if you have a good routine. I'm lucky since I usually let one of my detailers wash my wife's cayenne. But a proper first detail is crucial. Give it a good wash....proper soap, wash mitt, and drying cloth. Get P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner....very effective on the brake dust.

After drying, do a proper clay, polish, and wax.

Vacuum interior, condition leather, and you're all set. This initial detail can be a 2 weekend project spending a few hours a day so you don't kill your weekend.

The maintenance couldn't be simpler if you have the right tools. As others have suggested, get the CR Spotless DI System...your best friend. No special tools needed, although an electric pressure washer will make quick work and extend the resin life of filter. Simple wash, dry, spray wax, wipe down windows, and condition tires...every two weeks at a minimum.

Vacuum interior, wipe down interior with Sonax dashboard cleaner, clean carpets with autoglym interior cleaner, and your Cayenne will look new for years.

Here are some kits we sell that would be perfect for the beginner:

Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Cheers.
