Thank you so much! Unfortunately, we have decided to go for the V6. Basically, because of the price - there is no discount on S and it works out to be 15K more than the V6 .

I am really scared of the vibration issue - so we shall see. I will probably get the car in April/May timeframe.

Actually on our ~100 miles drive today I felt the engine got noticeably smoother. There is about 300 miles on the odometer so I suspect it's just normal break in. Wife don't feel a thing so I guess I'll just mention this next time when the car is in for maintenance. I love how this thing drives!

That is strange, here in SoCal discount on V6 is harder to get than S.

Don't feel unfortunate to have a V6. Its got enough power to pass with ease on the hwy, plenty of power for such a big SUV. Like what some have mentioned, the 958 V6 is much more capable than the previous generations. If I were to do it again, I'd still pocket the $15K and chose this little gem.

Congrats you'll love it either way. My last suv was an Acura MDX which was a v6 at 300hp and comparable to the v6 cayenne in performance. Frankly I didn't feel it lacking power in regular in town driving. I don't tow anything and most of the time it's just me driving. Sometimes the S to me feels like a lot of power and i have tone it down otherwise I'll end up with some expensive tickets. Oh and the other more noticeable thing, I'm spending more at the pump!

Thanks for all the support . Yea, its weird it seemed to me right at the start of the process none of the dealers wanted me to buy the S. Three of them simply said V6 enough power you will ever need. In Northern California the dealers dont even have V6 or S for test driving. All I could test drive was a hybrid.

I currently drive a BMW 525i. The Cayenne felt powerful enough and the only noticeable difference was between the stiff steering wheel of the BMW to the smooth steering of the Cayenne. I bought it with the Servotronic option, so I dont miss the "sports" steering feel. I ended up not adding any performance options apart from the Tiptronic & servotronic.

Should I look at adding any other performance features like PDCC, PASM, etc.?

Congrats, I think you will be very happy with it. As far as the other features go, I don't think they are strictly necessary in the V6. You could add PASM relatively cheaply with steel springs. I have that option and would do it again but realistically i have the suspension set to normal about 90% of the time which is what you get standard anyway. I think this feature might be slightly better with the air suspension, which is a very nice feature and almost required if you want to tow anything. PTV and PDCC are great adds too and will be very noticeable improvements on curvy roads. However, if you have the extra $9k or so these options require I would start with improving the engine to the S first.

I spent quite a time researching similar SUV's including other brands. I finally bought S because of the drive...! I never had a better driving feel on any other models...! If someone looking to buy V6 version please consider ML350 you atleast get lot of tech features. As some one said its day and night between V6 and S.

Thanks
RG
