Isn't it nice when someone clips your car in the parking lot?

Isn't it fun when someone clips your car in the parking lot so when you get back to it from ordering chipotle they have already left the scene of the crime?

Happened to me today!

Not terribly bad damage but this is what happened to the rear right side of the car.

Scrapped the side and broke the reflector. Might not have gone through the clear bra that was installed on the entire rear, but that needs replaced at least and then the light.....

Rediculous people these days.
Even if I hit a Bugatti I would always wait or leave a note with my info....

your TT? wow that sucks! i hope the dmg isnt too bad. (i think you are missing a pic.)

frank69m Jun 12, 2012 06:56 PM

any cameras in the parking lot? A lot of owners have it these days.

pepper09tt Jun 12, 2012 07:53 PM

That bites
Terrible how careless people can be
In Florida,i believe that parking lots are among the most dangerous places to drive...

5 Attachment(s)
had to resize them first, new iphone takes them at 2.2MB per pic

Even at the minimum, my full wrap of my bumper clear bra was a couple grand, and the red light need replaced. Hopefully that is all unless it went through clear bra, or when removing clear bra it removes paint, which would mean entire bumper painted and blended, then totaling a few maybe $4K for this minor annoyance

no cameras in the parking lot, just the stores have them, but they are mainly just facing the entrance door. I have already checked with them all and they couldn't get a view of the spot my CTT was in. bummer all around, but whatcha going to do.....get er fixed that's what.

$250 deductible but more of a huge annoyance than anything...

I still can't believe how many people just drive away after they hit another car, classless. Still annoying to fix if they leave a note but somehow you feel better about the world.

I am sorry about your car. I think people nowadays just don't have that common courtesy anymore. This reminds me of my poor E50 when the wife of a college professor caused a similar sized scuff mark at the rear of the bumper. They just knowingly denied it. :(

Really sorry to see this, I can totally feel your pain... Some1 used his key to scratch my door panel and rear bumper just couple of months back. Money aside, it's really annoying because it took them less than a minute to done that and took me a week to have it repair because the shop need to paint half of the car.

vitaman Jun 13, 2012 07:30 AM

I feel it too!
Had guests over and my garage door opening which normally is challenging to negotiate, became an obstacle course and I would up slightly scraping a rear wheel arch. Felt like nothing. However after 12 days in the shop (because of my body kit they had to get a part from Germany) and $1700 .....it felt like something!

So sorry to see this.

I always park my car in the furthest spot when I go to Chipotle. I figure the car is safe from idiot like these, and I needed the exercise after that big burrito. :)

Mostly a bunch of punk kids at Chiplotle anyways.

Park with empty spots around you. Will help with door dings as well. I've changed my dining venue many times because of a lack of parking with empty spots around me. BTW, Chipotle was owned by McDonald's. McDonald's hand book calls for very tight parking spaces in their parking lots. Maybe Chipotle is still using the same hand book...

Sometimes no matter how far or how well you park, you will always find one type of parking dixk drivers who deliberately likes to park their car next to yours just for spite - some cars are just magnets for this kind of driver. Any update regarding how extensive the damage is ? Any possibility that the culprit could be someone who frequent that particular plaza? :(
