Brake dust .. lots of brake dust

In my second month of ownership (2013 Cayenne diesel). Really enjoying this car. I'm amazed at the number of Gen Y guys/gals who verbally approve of the purchase. I suppose that means something..

I'm surprised at the amount of dust generated by the front brakes. My 2010 Carrera generates some brake dust, as have all of my previous cars & trucks, but this boy puts out some DUST!.. I'll wash the car, take it for a drive, and by the time I get home the front wheels are dusted again.

Not complaining, really.. not like there's a lot I could do about it. Might look into swapping the pads from an aftermarket pad when the time comes, but that'll be a ways down the road.

You might try Armor All Wheel Protectant. Make sure it is the wheel one and not the tire one. I started using it a few months ago due to the brake dust with the 997 and BMW E93. I was expecting only an easier clean-up on the wheels, but I have to say, it has also significantly reduced the overall brake dust (and an easier clean-up). Our new 2013 Cayenne Diesel is on the ship headed to the US and I'll be applying this stuff once it gets here (I'm assuming we'll have the same level of brake dust as you have).

Yeah mine gets dusty really quick as well. Wife's new Benz has some new pad material that is almost dust free, wonder if we can get similar stuff for the Cayenne? Her car would literally go for weeks without dust on wheel, while the Cayenne gets dusty in one drive!

WFBlue is on a distinguished road

The armor all product is really quite exceptional. Last for about 3-4 weeks, and even at the end, allows dust to be removed with a low pressure hose.

vitaman will become famous soon enough
Pepper speaketh da truth.
That 8 grand is gone, but each day you see the cool yellow brakes, stop on a dime with not a peep or a squeal, and have shiny wheels all day every day. Not a bad trade off.
