2012 TT Steering too soft

Guys,

I bought my wife a 2012 turbo to use as a DD. It came with 21's that darted all over the road. I installed our snow tires and wheels, which are 20's. The snows were removed from our 13 diesel.

This truck wanders on the highway. It's like any steering imput, and I am back correcting the other direction. I have a 13 turbo, but it's away in storage. This is our 5th 958 and third turbo. Does not pull, so I assume the alignment is ok...any tsb to make the steering more firm? As I think I have electric power steering on this one?...

Any help is apppreciated.

Mike

Not sure what the issue is,but my 2011 CT is tight
V-maxed it over and over in Germany and always felt like on rails
Even tighter and more precise steering with the Champion 22s I have now
170+ and no problemo
Live in Florida,so cant comment on driving the CT in snow
Good luck and happy trails

My GTS is normal in slow speeds and gets overly tight on the interstate. I have to keep both hands on the wheel to make steering adjustments at high speed.

I have the Michelin summer tires which were standard. The rear tires slip in the rain at 70-80mph. I feel like the back tires would shift me to the left or right about 2-6 inches; enough to give the sensation of losing control. Once my son opened the window from the back seat and the car pulled to that side.

My dealer told me that the tires don't have as good control on wet concrete like the all season tire and the SUV weighs 500 lbs less.

Seriously?
70 under the rain?..one handed driving easy
No slip, super steady, precise and ALWAYS in control
Like i wrote..on rails
Though i do have pdcc and ptv+
And am Autobahn experienced, where i drove 100+ one handed..and as i picked up the pace I would eventually use my second hand
Rock steady all the way to 177

It's almost as if the steering is still in its soft mode for parking lot turning etc.

Another way to describe it, is like an older pickup truck with a steering gear box, not rack and pinion. There is always play to find perfect strait.

I guess I'll call the dealer on Monday. I hate calling the dealer. Ugh.

Oh yes...the floating feeling
Like you are driving a boat
The way you describe it reminds me of a vintage Jeep Grand Cherokee
Yeah, love my dealer, but do not exactly like having to call them..which i have not had to(except for my mods )
Good luck

Well, I am going to take it in on Weds night.

Hopefully the alignment is just slightly out, or some other minor service.

I have a 14' Cayenne and have the same problem, I know exactly what you are talking about, the thing is super soft like butter and I have another 14 Diesel that the steering wheel feels tight, did you get it fixed?

Nope. Dealer told me there was no problem. Sold it a week later.
