20k service

20k service
Anyone recently have the 20k service done? My dealership (the only one in town) charges $595, plus $170 for the brake flush. Sounds awfully high, just trying to get a sense of what others have paid.
TIA.

Does that include the oil change??

I can't recall how much the prepaid maintenance plan was for 3 years, but I do remember deciding it wasn't a good deal back then. I need to dig into the service manual to see what they're actually doing, but IIRC, it's a lot of checking & inspecting.
George- the $595 20k service is inclusive of the oil change. My last oil change from the same dealership was $270 a year ago.

Basically they want to charge you $765 for an oil change and brake fluid flush. The rest of the 20k service is is to check this and that...
That's crazy!! I had my oil changed for $130, and purchased the Durametric scanner on the group buy for $245. Now I can re-set the service indicator lights.
All that's left is finding a mechanic that can do the brake fluid flush.

Crazy indeed! Will discuss with them when I go in... they also sent me a coupon for a $170 Oil Change, so basically they're charging me $425 for looking at the Cayenne. Ridiculous.

i went to an indie shop and paid around $450. The 20k service is pretty useless as others are mentioning, it's just a bunch of checks with an oil change. The indie shop threw in a cabin filter replacement too.
The only reason I use a shop to do this is because you from what I understand, you need to show that a professional mechanic did the work on your car so you can maintain your warranty. After 50k miles I'll do these myself

The Magnuson Moss Act states that the FTC makes it illegal for manufacturers to claim your warranty is void by merely servicing with an indy mechanic or even by yourself. However you want to be familiar with required maintenance, keep any parts/service receipts, and keep log.

Yes, V6.
Quick update- dropped off the Cayenne this morning and opted for just the oil change and brake flush. I'll replace the cabin filter on my own, as that along with changing the battery key were the only two things that are completed with the 20k service. Lots of inspecting per the service manual.
Thanks for all the input.

That is good price. I just did my 2014 cayenne here in stevenscreek prosche for $850 including 10% coupon. That's expensive service since my car is under warranty I need them to do 1 service. next year I will do it by myself.

No you don't. You just need to be able to show it was done to their requirements. Doesn't matter if you take it to an Indy or do it yourself.

Agreed!!! I thought i had issues with my coolant message warning and stop/go jerking during heavy traffic. Mistake to ask them do 20K service. 10K service oil change for 1st time was so cheap $139. It was a way for porsche dealer to hook me in.
I will DIY from now on ... and bring to indy guy to reset the messages.
Thanks ...
