It all depends on what you are looking for in your SUV. From a driver (enthusiast) perspective, you won't be as happy in a Land Rover. Significant weight difference which you will feel coupled with differences in the engineering that goes into the 'feel" when you drive your vehicle.
Land Rover though making headway with reliability still isn't at the Porsche level. Lots of fit and finish issues with new Land Rover products. The powertrain in the new LR's are brilliant, but Ford based (think mustang).
