2011 Center door locked hardly accessible...

I got a 2011 S as a daily driver, great car but...

when the car is driven up (i.e. valet parking) and my passenger door is not unlocked, I have to reach all the way to the top of the center console to push this tiny switch...i'm 6'4" so its not as easy as it sounds!

Why isn't the unlock on the door where it belongs and have always been???

There is a child lock button on the door: can that be re-program to unlock the doors?

Thoughts?

Thx

Angry

I feel your pain. I think it's ridiculous also. Porsche changed it (2012?) so the unlock button is on the door, where it belongs.
Similarly, I don't get the rear lift gate button on the driver door, only opens when the key is in the ignition, or car running, but doesn't close the lift gate!?!

The rear lift gate button does close it, you just have to hold it for 2-3 seconds and keep it held.. ;-)

Mine, the key DOES have to be in the ignition... press button down once and it opens, then press and hold and whilst holding the rear hatch opens. If I let go, then it stops.

Mines a 2014 CD..

I have to say I liked the door lock in the centre console in my 2011 (my 2015 has it on the door)

Maybe I'm just nostalgic for the older porsches with the window controls in the centre console..... Sigh.

I also have no problem with it - both the driver and passenger have access to it. With the button on the drivers door - only the driver can unlock the doors.

Simple answer to the valet problem - program the truck so all doors unlock when the ignition is switched off or one door is opened.

There is an identical button on both doors so the passenger can still unlock (or lock) all doors.
