2015 mult-function steering wheel retrofit

Many Porsche dealers in China offer the retrofit for about 2k, replacing 2011-14 multi-function steering wheel with 2015 model (coming with a new airbag). I was told it's a direct unplug and plug DIY job and no PIWIS coding needed. I feel it's cool to have it on my 2011 CTT but wonder how many of you 958.1 owners like the new one.

I had asked my SA about a retrofit. He told me he had another client who wanted to upgrade. The order all the parts, but couldn't get the wheel to pair up with the car. None of the buttons on the wheel worked. I'm not saying what you found to be untrue. Maybe more progress has been made since I last inquired about it.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll ask for video instructions from the dealer before place my order. But back to my question, do you like the 2015 wheel? I haven't got a chance to sit in an 2015, only viewed some pictures...

Yeah I do like the new wheel. It was on my list of wants until I was told it wasn't possible.

here in Russia alot of such retrofits done, with dealers and not only. all I know (for now) - you need to buy not only wheel and airbag, but complete unit with levers behind it. and of course coding is necessary.

I love the sport wheel on our 15. My wife doesn't care for the alcantara option I chose, but I love it.

Piwis not at all you need for coding, You need reprogramm new 958.2 steering column unit to match 958.1 protocols. Here we did it few times, but can think how to do it by post if here some people really like new steerings for few K$$.
