Cayenne Sprint Booster Install

Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition. Start by removing the screw from the center of the under-dash panel with a T15 torx driver.

Once the screw is removed, pull down the panel from the right and left corners. These ends are held tight with metal clips and they will give as you pull on them.

Once these are removed, disconnect the under-dash interior light.

There is a white clip that holds the panel and lightly push down on the piece to release the under-dash panel.

Turn the panel out of the way and you will see the throttle module above the gas pedal.

At this point, each person may reach this differently and you can even remove the pedal assembly. The easiest way to do this is to use your index finger and thumb. Squeeze the clip and wiggle it back and forth to release the clip.

Once removed, insert the sprint booster. Press it back into the location. Start the car and press the throttle pedal. You should notice an immediate difference.

just so I understand. I was looking at buying one of these for my S5 and wifes 08 Cayenne...it just "tightens" the throttle response..it doesnt actually make the car faster, just feel faster?? Which is fine thats what i like but would there be difference once the car is floored?? thanks!

It will make the car "quicker", it will respond to your commands quicker, but not faster of course, that is related to engine. It's like having the sport mode on (2nd gen cayennes).

By the way, great post!! Rep is yours..

depending..

if the spring booster is set to a specific output no matter what the input voltage is, then nothing will probably change, or a slight change, depending the difference between the sport mode voltage output and sprint booster voltage output.

If the spring booster is set to increase voltage with a given proportion, not a value, then it will boost the already boosted voltage and chances are to burn the throttle controller, since you will reach the pre-set maximum of the board before flooring, or it will make the car so inconvenient that it will feel like floored even if you slightly touch the pedal. So, either way, makes no sense to install on a >08 model

Stephen - Thanks for remaining on the phone with me until I got rolling with my install. Great customer service. I had to loosen the pedal mechanism in order to install the unit. Your pictures don't look exactly the same as what I found when I removed the under dash panel in my '09 but nevertheless I still managed to install the unit. You pictures SEEM to show more room above the unit to get a hand in. This is the best money I have spent on a mod. It makes the vehicle soooo much more responsive. You have to change your driving habits as I was sitting at a light behind another car and when the light turned green, I almost rear-ended him. Touch the throttle and it goes. My wife drives this vehicle most of the time and was complaining that it won't stay in sports mode. Turn off the engine and when starting again, she has to put it back in sport mode. Now she says she doesn't need sports mode. In fact sports mode is a almost little scary. I highly recommend it and am considering installing one on my other vehicles.

The Sprint Booster accelerates the throttle response. There is no increase in horsepower but it feels a lot stronger. The throttle pedal is a more one to one eliminating the pause present both when depressing and releasing the throttle. Once the car is floored, and maintained at that position, there is no difference. The difference is during the input variations. When you let off, the car immediately slows down and does not roll as it currently does.

We are offering a money back guarantee because you really need to try it out to get a real sense of what it does. Different drivers have commented on different aspects the change the Sprint Booster makes.

Thank you for the support! I spoke with a guy yesterday who will be posting his comments on his Cayman with Sport Chrono. He noted some interesting differences between Sport Chrono with Sprint Booster and without. I would like to get with someone that has a new Cayenne with Sport Chrono to get some feedback posted.

I have given our local Porsche dealer a Booster to try in one of their Cayenne GTS's. I am anxiously waiting their feedback.

I am happy to help and glad to hear that you like it. I have contacted the local dealer to see if I can install one in a newer Cayanne and get pics since there are differences. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
