To call the Porsche 918 cutting edge is a little like saying the universe is a big place. Obviously it's true, but there's some nuance that's missing, LIke the history. The 918 is new, but the Porsche's legacy of building high-tech set-pieces isn't. All you need to do is time-travel back to 1986 to see Porsche's first technological tour-de-force in action. This 959 was the fastest car in the world when it came out. It was also the test-bed for a number of Porsche firsts.
