    Hi Francis,

I'm in Gatineau, I think I figured out the procedure to program the keys but I have not tried it yet, I'm doing the ignition coils now and all the associated stuff on the V12. It would be great to meet at some point, I'm thinking to join the Niagara weekend drive in September, are you? Apparently Adroc Automotive Ltd in Ottawa works on AM cars but I have no personal experience with them yet.

    Francois,

Sorry for the late reply as I didn't notice that I had a message, I also do most of my maintenance (oil change, brakes, transaxle flush, etc), I have own my 2009 Aston Martin V8 Vantage since 2016 and only had to go the the Montreal dealer twice so far, once to get a key programmed and the second time for a clutch upgrade. I am sure that there is someone in the Ottawa region that can work on our car but I haven't looked for any so far. I am located in the Orleans area, where are you located and what car do you drive? It would be nice to meet another Aston Martin owner as their isn't that many in Ottawa. As far as the key, if you have a Crystal key system so 2009 and up, you have to first push the key flush to the bezel and let it do its test and then you can push it all the way in and hold it until the car start. At the beginning I was pushing it a little too far and then the ring around the key would never turn red and allow me to start it, hope this help

    Hi Handyman2009,

I recently bought an Aston Martin and I'm also in Ottawa, I do most of maintenance work myself but I was wondering if there are any local shop that specialize in these cars locally in case I get over my head. I've been struggling at understanding the key system but I think I got it figured out with some help from ThinkDiag. Let me know here (I'm new here) or better by email at tref@sympatico.ca.

    thanks,
    Francois.
