    I really can't figure how it could cause any damage. CTEK makes the cable just for this type of connection. I would imagine they would tell most people to stay away from the battery terminals in general because of sparks and fire hazard. I think that is why the jump sites are so spaced out in the car.

    I'm a Rennlist guy but thought I'd PM you on the CTEK direct battery connection issue. I, too, connected my CTEK tender directly to the battery since I didn't want to either keep a window open or close the door on the wire. I just mentioned this over on Rennlist and a couple guys told me their service manager said not to directly connect to the battery as it may somehow damage the car. Do you have any idea what they're talking about? It seems to me that a direct battery connection should be optimum. How can a maintenance charge damage the car? Are we the only 2 people doing this?
